Former Chairman of Flutter and CEO of packaging giant Smurfit Kappa Group for over a decade, Gary holds extensive commercial experience and has built an internationally renowned reputation as an effective corporate leader with exceptional corporate strategy, branding and business turn around skills.
Prior to joining Smurfit Kappa Group, Gary was CEO of Aer Lingus and CEO of Gilbeys of Ireland, and prior to that, Financial Controller of Ericsson Ireland.
Gary is Chairman of AON Ireland and of Sicon Ltd (Sisk Group). He is a Trustee and former President of the Irish Business and Employer’s Confederation and in the “not for profit sector” he is a Director of Barnardos and The Ireland Funds.
He is a fellow of the Institute of Certified Accountants (FCCA), a graduate of University College Dublin and is an Honorary Fellow of the National College of Ireland.
