We are excited to announce our investment in VisionR, a data and AI-driven insights provider for brick-and-mortar retailers. VisionR has raised €1.45M in funding led by MiddleGame Ventures with support from Delta Partners and strategic angels.
In the online world, retailers have sophisticated analytics around shopper behaviour – but in the brick-and-mortar world, it is more of a black box. Today, 70-75% of a retailer’s sales still comes from physical stores where existing solutions are not able to provide actionable data about customer demographics and how they spend their time in the store – including abandoned carts, time in aisle, selection decisions and who actually makes an end purchase.
Led by Shane O’Sullivan and Oran Mulvey, VisionR allows brick-and-mortar retailers to gain actionable insights into their customers through its retail analytics platform that combines hardware and software to anonymously (and in a GDPR compliant way) capture customer data. The company has invented Scout, an AI-powered vision technology that monitors customer behaviour inside the store, ties it directly into POS data and enables retailers to optimise operations in real-time. VisionR is driving innovation for global retailers at the intersection of AI and customer experience.
