We are delighted to be partnering with Matt Ong and announce our investment in Ctrl Alt, the first UK-regulated alternative asset tokenisation platform.
MiddleGame Ventures co-led the €2.5M Seed round alongside Forward Partners with participation from Enterprise Ireland and strategic Angels.
For many it is simply not feasible to invest in assets like property, green energy or even films. They may not have the upfront capital required, are put off by the lack of liquidity, or the associated costs are simply too high. As a result, access to these types of assets has typically been reserved for the wealthiest ‘1%’ of the population. Whilst macro-economic headwinds and high inflationary environments will continue to drive more and more investors in search of new ways to diversify their portfolios away from traditional stocks and bonds.
Launched in 2022, Ctrl Alt enables banks and FinTechs to offer alternative asset investing to their eligible customers while making it easier for asset owners to raise finance through fractionalised investments. By bridging the gap between asset holders and FinTech platforms, Ctrl Alt is opening up alternative assets, a typically exclusive form of investment, to the individual consumer.
Managing Partner Michael Meyer shared his thoughts on the investment: “We believe that more investors should have the ability to invest in higher returning alternative assets. To date, only institutions and the very wealthy have had access. Matt and his team at Ctrl Alt are working to change that. We are thrilled to be backing such a great team that has built a unique business, combining Matt’s expertise on regulation with cutting edge technology.”
